Gambarotta S.p.A. is a long-established Italian company specialising in contract manufacturing of confectionery products, based in Novi Ligure. Significant growth in production volumes — with over 900 tonnes of chocolate processed each year — called for a logistics system capable of handling intensive and highly seasonal flows, particularly those linked to Easter egg production.

2. Shuttle system for automated handling
- The installation is equipped with 12 Logaut L-SOLE-800 double-sided Wi-Fi 4.0 satellite shuttles, designed to speed up put-away and retrieval operations and optimise storage depth.
- The reduced height of the shuttle (105 mm) allows an additional level to be introduced compared with conventional systems.
2. Multi-area configuration and flow management
- The system is organised into three functional areas: a bulky packaging area, a semi-finished goods area (2,730 pallet positions) and a finished goods area (3,300 pallet positions).
- This configuration makes it possible to manage differentiated flows while maintaining operational continuity and control over handling.
- The system integrates laser positioning for pallet insertion and a magnetic fork-locking system that keeps the shuttle stable. Together, these solutions ensure precision in operations and reduce risk during handling.
